For schools in cities and major country towns, you are directed to WHEREIS. This shows a map of the nominated suburb or town Or if you have the exact address, this can be entered and a location will be provided. For locating schools in country areas, an Australian atlas or regional maps are recommended.

Schools are listed in Alphabetical Order whether they are :

Infants [K-2];

Public [K-6];

Secondary [7-12];

Some special types of schools and centres are described below.

Central School are schools that include both primary and secondary on the one site [some to Year 10, some to Year 12].

SSP Schools are special schools catering for children with specific disabilities.

Hospital Schools assist children who are ill for lengthy periods, and are attached to specific hospitals.

Environmental Education Centres are bushland settings where environment, science, etc., are taught. Students attend from schools on a day basis [some overnight stays are possible].
