International education is important to Australia. It provides opportunities for Australians to study overseas, gaining different skills or doing postgraduate work and improving existing skill sets. In addition, international students studying in Australia enhance our reputation as a supplier of quality education and qualifications, while generating employment and revenue. Australia draws a significant majority of international students from the greater Asian region. Australians going overseas go to all parts of the world, though the majority would study in Europe or North America.
It is an area where government has a significant interest and where they have shown they are willing to step in if required.
This page looks at international education programs and processes in all states & territories. National bodies and involvement, exchanges, scholarships, journals and further information are also included.
If you are aware of any worthwhile information which is not included, suggestions or additions are welcome and will be given due consideration.
