The Commonwealth Department of Education is part of the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations portfolio, overseen by the one main Minister. It covers educational areas from Early Childhood to Higher Education, Skills & Training to Indigenous Education.
Most material is available through the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations site listed below. Some material still remains on the previous Department of Education, Science & Training site, though most has been transferred. A link will be maintained until such time as all material has been moved.
This page gives access to individual sections of the new Departmental site as well as connections to a range of agencies and programs linked to the Commonwealth Department. Details relating to funding procedures and other involvement, especially in the light of an increasing Commonwealth role and greater national, as opposed to state, processes and programs being implemented will be dealt with on a separate page which is being developed.
