scholarship [n.]
1. academic achievement; learning of a high level. 2. a grant made to support a student’s education, awarded on the basis of achievement.
Scholarships, bursaries, grants, awards [financial] are all names for monetary amounts given to individuals to assist them with their studies, irrespective of their education level. The amounts involved may range from the hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars. Some may be supplied with restrictions or obligations attached, e.g. funds must be spent on specific objects, commitment to work for a group for a period of time.
We have not included areas such as HECS or HELP, which are government sourced funding, but which have to be repaid in some form over a period of time.
Links to scholarships have been grouped as follows.
All state/territory specific scholarships have been placed under the various state headings, irrespective of what they cover. That is, scholarships for teaching, state specific nursing, state-based Indigenous applications, etc., will be listed under state/territory groupings.
This page looks at State & Territory scholarships information and Indigenous Scholarships.
The Second Page looks at scholarship Search Engines plus Specific Area and International scholarships.
The Third Page looks at Government sponsored, Research and Tertiary scholarships, as well as other scholarship information.
You can access information by using the direct links or the number links above.
It is impossible for a site such as this to include every scholarship link. If what you are seeking is not included, we recommend you use one of the Search Engines listed to find your target, or the target area. This is a continually evolving page with additions made as sources are discovered, and present sources expanded. It will continue as a work in progress for a long time.
