Technology is the core understanding on which all other technology programs are founded. It provides an introduction to the area by ensuring students develop a clear knowledge of materials, tools and techniques and develop understanding of how these combine to allow completion of projects with safety. It also develops understanding of the impact of technological advancement. Practical components [obviously not included here] are a dominant part of study, with understanding coming from practical application.
This page accesses information on all the above areas. It includes portals and sites for specific resources, tutorials, activities, tips & tricks, communication skills, programs and more. Some of these are applicable to other, later topics in this subject.
This is a page requiring further development. If you are aware of other suitable areas or quality resources - tutorials, links, courses, data, help us improve the page by letting us know so they can be considered for inclusion.

‘STL identifies content necessary for K-12 students, including knowledge, abilities and the capacity to apply both to the real world. The standards in STL were built around a cognitive base as well as a doing/activity base. They include assessment checkpoints at specific grade levels [K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12]. STL articulates what needs to be taught in K-12 laboratory-classrooms to enable all students to develop technological literacy’.
