Turkish is a language spoken in Turkey, Cyprus, in other eastern European countries and by groups in other world countries, especially Germany. Around 60 million people speak Turkish as their first language. It is an Altaic language originating from Central Asia. Previously using an Ottoman script, it has used a Latin alphabet since the time of Kemal Ataturk.
